What exactly is this inbox from gmail and how is it different from standard gmail.... Description in google play store isnt helpful

This article is quite helpful in explaining. http://www.forbes.com/sites/amadoudiallo/2014/11/17/google-inbox-review/ Personally, I have tried it but don't use it because it does not let me label gmails with more than one label. I could of course open the gmail app to do that but that was just increasing the effort. If you dont use gmail labels then it may be useful.
