Hello jhnelo. Assuming your settings in all of the sound menus (main settings, phone settings) have not been changed (by you or an app or widget), I'd suspect a blocked ear piece (dirt, hair spray, grease, bacon ).

Have a look... maybe a good cleaning of that area is all that is needed.

I don't think the brylcream has done anythink to it but just noticed I don't get no touch sounds or any sound when typing and locking/unlocking my phone. All volumes are maxed. Media plays, I get notifications I've deleted all apps an reinstalled. I would do a factory reset but dont want to do one sort my phone out again an then next day get a message saying jelly bean is ready to download am do it all over again.
