Help In Car Mode, navigation display is dark (night time mode?)

I got a new car dock and tried it out today (i-Bolt). Very nice. I like it.

So, I turned on the Google navigation / maps and noticed that even though it was the middle of the day, the map display was dark... sort of a gray-scale version of the maps. Later I took the GS3 out of the dock and turned on the navigation, the display was the normal, bright color map.

Any ideas? Normal?

Hello, which car dock app are you using?

CarHome Ultra allows you to set the Day or Night mode manually, or it can set it automatically based on the sunrise/sunset time of your location. You can also set screen brightness levels for day/night mode.

Thanks

I'm not using any car dock app. I'm just using the GS3 in a car dock. It goes into car mode automatically when it's plugged in. No app needed.

Hello, you are correct. You don't need any app for Car Mode, but I'm not sure about Night Mode/Day Mode. These are different operating modes for Android just like Car Mode, except they can trigger a different UI look for some apps.

Google Navigation has a darker look that's easier on the eye's when the phone is in Night Mode.
