Help In run/debug configurations I get error Default Activity not found

Hello every one, this is me Harry with new question.

I have just started to learn developing apps with the android studio, Version 1.0.2
I am following some guides to build the app hello world.
After I finished the creating of the app I see many files created as expected.
Now I am a bit lost what to do next am I to do a compile or a make module
some where?

What I did do was open the Run/Debug configurations window as instructed
and set up the emulator general tab. Default APK, Activity is set to launch default
activity, and the target is emulator nexus 5 API 21 x86.
I see error at the bottom of the screen Default Activity not found.
How do I debug this problem?

I changed the Activity selection to do not launch activity, just to see if I can get
the emulator to run. It does bring up the nexus and I can select the apps button
but my hello world is not in there. Much of my learning needs are debugging
things I don't find information for this easy to come by.
Thanks all
Harry

Interesting how noone helped you with this thread in 4 1/2 years. I have the same problem. I'll wait a couple of winters and hope to be alive then.

Perhaps no one helped because the people who can help didn't see it on this board. :)

If you're having the same problem, or really any issue involving app development, you might want to post in our Android Development board. That's where developers--and aspiring developers--usually hang out. :D
