I just made DSP Manager available tonight in the Extra Goodies section of ROM Manager. It seems like a very nice enhancement to the audio subsystem without any trade offs that I can see. So, I ask the question, should DSP Manager simply be part of the base Virtuous ROM in the next release?
 
I for one think every good smartphone needs a good equalizer so I vote yes. Of course you will always have those that will complain because it isn't stock so there should probably be a way to turn it off in Virtuous Buddy.
 
I voted "I dont care" because .... I don't care. I never listen to music on my phone so I couldn't care less about an equalizer. But now that you mention it I wish I could change my answer to NO cause there is getting to be way to much bloat in this ROM. So it should remain an option in Virtuous Buddy (if that is where it is located). And speaking of bloat I think there should be a toggle for the reboot app that has been installed as default. I just found the apk and deleted it for now.
 
Can someone thats used dsp manager tell me if it effects all audio out of the phone, including audio streamed from slacker, or just audio from the internal media player (for mp3's etc) ?
 
What's DSP Manager? It does not exist on the market. Do we have an exact name or link so we we can read about it before voting?
 
I did like the effect it had on my headphones while listening to pandora but everytime music starts for the first time it would get this real loud annoying burst of sound? Clipping the audio or something? Freaked me out so I uninstalled seeing as I have warrantied my Dinc twice for blown speaker.

DSP = Digital Signal Processor. It's basically an audio equalizer for Android. So if your headphones are lacking treble or bass, you can adjust accordingly. It has profiles for bluetooth, headphones, speaker, etc.

Try it out. There's a patch to remove it if you don't like it.
 
I, too, get the same burst of sound that freaks me out every song change. Using mixzing.

does anyone know the website of the app's author?

PS: I voted no, cuz of the "burst of energy" that jumps out of my headphones. LOL.

As much as I hated to do it... DSP Manager is deleted on my system. I couldnt get past the burst of sound, or the crazy broken up echoes it makes when you are listening to music and a email, text, or other alert sounds... :(
