Help Increase Google Security

I changed my Google Account settings to "Block less secure apps". That kept Maildroid, my email app, from accessing my mail. I was told by the Maildroid author that it supports OAuth2 tokens but I have to set it up in Gmail. When I Googler the tokens I for info on running scripts to generate the tokens and .... Pretty much above my head. Is there an easy way to set Gmail up with OAuth2 tokens. The other thing I don't understand is with the increased security, Gmail still worked. Doesn't that mean that Gmail is setup with OAuth2? BTW, I have an HTC One M8 with Android 5.0.1.
Thanks,
Dr. Mark

Gmail works with itself.

I think that there's a check box you have to click on one of the Gmail pages if it doesn't give you a pop-up on the phone - I went through this a week ago with another app.

I'll post the link when I'm back at my desk today unless someone beats me to it.

As I recall, when Google is working normally, the app sends the authorization request, Google intercepts it and asks if that was you, you say yes and you're done.

Using Gmail, check your inbox for any security alerts - those could lead to the qualifying links I mentioned. I don't think that Google would route that elsewhere but also check the spam box while you're at it.

The oauth2 documentation is confusing and we don't care - in the end it's all about enabling some option.

The problem is if you ask Google how oauth2 works you get computer science.

The correct answer to the question is - it's works real good and you have to go to linky and say yes. :D

OK, so try this from pc -

accounts.google.com

That redirects to your secure account page.

Scroll to almost bottom. View all connected apps and services.

Pretty sure it's in there...

You were right, that's the place for apps. However, there is one problem. There's no place that says "Add".

Thanks a lot, but I have one more question. (Aren't there always one more question?) I followed your instructions, but I loose you on "Choosing Auth" I tapped the question mark, but that didn't help. I don't see where to choose "Auth" see photo

Like I always say, "EarlyMon, You da man! :D Thanks, that did it. For some dumb reason I tapped the question mark and the sentence. I had to carefully tap the highlight. ;)
