Increase number of rings.

Maddad2

Lurker
I have a Moto G7 Power. I only get 4 rings before it goes to voice mail. I have tried every thing mentioned on the internet, at the Tracfone forum, and the Motorola forum, and no one can help me out. I use Tracfone with an AT&T chip. I can't even dial *#06# to get the IMEI number and get an error message " connection problem or invalid MMI code.Help!! I need more rings.

Hi @Maddad2, welcome to Android Forums :).

Not responding properly to *#06# is not a good sign.

Regarding the number of rings before forwarding to voicemail is concerned, having tried 'everything mentioned on the internet', have you actually spoken to Tracfone to see if they can help you?

It might also help if you could give us a bit more detail about what you have tried up to now :).

@Maddad2, I've had a look on Google and found the following which might help :-

https://support.motorola.com/uk/en/...oto-g-family/moto-g7-power/documents/MS137585

Page 113 :-

Control ringtones and notifications
You can:
• Quickly silence the ringer. Press Volume Down on the side of the phone.
• Silence ringtones during hours you specify. Use Do not disturb .
• Choose a unique ringtone for specific people. You'll know instantly who's calling.
• Get notified of incoming calls when you're on a call. Set up call waiting.
• Set the number of rings before sending a call to voicemail. Dial into voicemail, then
follow your carrier's prompts to change this setting.

If this doesn't work I suggest you have a chat with Tracfone.

:)

Yup, tried everything. Booted into safe mode, nada. Factory reset, nada, never do that again.

Thanks for trying to help, voicemail doesn't have that option. Spent hours on the phone with Tracfone, nada.

That's tough, I can't think of anything else to try at the moment. I'll give the old memory box a bit of a nudge.

:(:)

Hi @Maddad2, the following link is to one of my posts a few years ago. It may be useful but don't be too surprised if your device doesn't have the various functions/settings, not all do :(.

There are two ways the setting can be changed by the device user. The first involves going into your dialer (also known as Call or Phone) settings and finding 'Voicemail' - 'Call forwarding' - 'When unanswered'. You should end up on a drop-down menu showing the voicemail number and the delay time with the option to change it.

The second way is to enter the MMI code as shown into your dialer as you did for the *#06# to get the emei, and that is the reason why I said it wasn't a good sign that your phone didn't like it. But I think both are worth trying now.

If you have any questions post back and we'll see if we can sort it.

I'm very surprised that Tracfone were unable to help. As a matter of interest, what did they do and/or say to you?
:)
