Root Info abt Lg Stylo

Currently have lg Volt with Boost Mobile. Looking for a larger phone and considering Stylo over Zte Max from Boost. It seems while both phones are generally similar it appears Stylo has less ram. Ive had so so experience with my original ZTE Warp so leaning towards stylo. But do want a phone that can be rooted..not so much for roms but to use apps such as wifi tether router.
So Id love to hear peoples opinions on Stylo and mainly can the Boost version be easily rooted...Thanks

if you're lucky enough to get one that has 5.0.2 then yes it can be rooted fairly easily but if you get it with 5.1.1 then no

and both come with a locked bootloader...
