Disclaimer: I have searched this site and I have searched the web, including Instagram's website and I still have not found an answer for:
I have downloaded the Instagram app, however I have yet to register a username with Instagram nor attach it to my Facebook, and here is why...
My name is Paul Sidbury. "PaulSidbury" is my twitter account username. "PaulSidbury" is also my Google and Yahoo username.
So, why not have "PaulSidbury" as my instagram username?
But... "PaulSidbury" is taken.
Fair enough... How about a variation...
But, "paulsidbury1980" is taken, and so is "paulsidbury90210", and "paulsidbury_XXX", and... you get the point.
Any and every attempt at an Instagram username that begins with "paulsidbury" is taken.
Believe me, I went on a mission to find something that would work as long as it started with "paulsidbury", even going out 8-9 characters (ie., "paulsidburyXXXXXXXXX")
And yes, I was using only letters, numbers, and the occasional underscore, nor was I including the "quotes".
Instagram will not let me create a username that starts with "paulsidbury".
Has anyone other Instagram users experienced this?
Do you have a username that is the exact same as your Twitter, Google, or email (characters before the @)...?
By the way, I can create usernames, just none that include "paulsidbury" anywhere in the name.
Why...??? What is the problem with "paulsidbury".
My suspicion is that Instagram wants you to create something different and unique not attached to any existing social media or email accounts.
Paranoid thinking...?
Thanks
