Help Install Micro SD, S3 goes into application update frenzy?

I switched the phone off, installed the Micro SD card and switched the phone back on. It automatically started updating all my applications and it's taking some time. Are the two related (are my applications automatically being copied over)?

Were the applications on the SD card already?

If you go into the Play Store there's an option to automatically download updates. If you installed an SD card that had apps on they would all start to update.

Not at all. Brand new 32GB card bought from Carphone Warehouse today. All the applications its updating happen to be once I'd already installed from Google Play, before I bought the extra storage.

It's most likely the reboot that triggered it rather than the installation of the card. You can disable automatic updates if you wish.

Agreed. It looks like that was the case - it didn't update all applications.
