Hi guys
I have a Samsung GII with jellybean OS which has GMail installed as default. Recently this default GMail stop functioning, at the same time numerous installed and pre-installed Apps also start to stop.
I am thinking of doing factory reset like reinstall the OS in windows. It seems you can do it as a soft reset from the OS or do a hard reset from the 3 hard buttons.
Appreciate help to these questions

- Is there any difference in the two methods?
- What happens in the reset, does it mean that it will reinstall the OS from the stored installer?
- In window the source can be stored in the harddisk or DVD, where is it stored in the mobile?
- I presume the OS is installed in the memory and the above failure means that the system in the memory is corrupted, is this correct?
