Root installed new ROM taking a long time to boot

Newbie
I recently rooted my phone, backed it up using clockwrk mod and backed up all my apps using titanium. Then I went and installed fission's rom manager and their v 2.4 rom for the droid 2. I used the app to install it and it backed up my phone first then installed the rom. During the initial reboot Im stuck at the loading screen where 'android' is on the screen and the shiny animation is playing. It has been stuck at this screen for 5+ minutes. Anyone know whats wrong? Is this the dreaded bootloop that Ive heard about? Is it safe to take out the battery and try booting it up again?

Thanks for any help.

Usually takes a copule to a few mins to reboot after any rom/theme install - for future reference

Yea if you don't wipe cache and data before you do the ROM it will go into a boot loop. I had it happen to me today but it is an easy fix. Glad you were able to figure it out on your own.
