Help Installing apk

Unable to install an apk that I have downloaded. It goes through the install process but then says application not installed. I have downloaded the apk from multiple locations. I know On previous phones I've had you have to change a setting to install an apk but cannot find it

Before Oreo it was located in Settings - Security - Unknown Sources.

Starting with Android 8 Oreo the steps to install from Unknown Sources changed, it's now per app instead of any app.

I have followed them steps but still gettingg the same results even redownloaded the apk to make sure it was not locked

then means u have to modify the apk with apk editor or pc to install but check the app terms before modifying codes! or resigning apk

they are many softwares to resign and install apk but first if the Apl didnt install in your phone check if apk is working and u nesd to resign or Change Sdk version of apk they are many apps to do tbat then it must install i was using apk tool.. but they are many both paid and fre

Perhaps, the app that you attempt to download has more than one variant, so that you need to select the most proper one to your device. To know whether the APK file version is compatible with your phone or not, all you need to do is to sideload the AIDA64 application to figure out your phone's specifications such as Architecture, DPI and Android version. Then compare with those parameters showed on APK file variants.
