I have rooted my phone and am wondering. Is it possible to install apks from other phones? Are there certain steps required to get this to work? I downloaded apks from a samsung galaxy S phone, and tried installing some of the apks, but every time the install failed. I'm lacking a lot of knowledge when it comes to android phones, but I can't seem to figure out what it is that disallows for that. Is there perhaps some sort of code in the apk that looks for specific device info? Or does it look for software info that only that phone would have specific to it? I'm pretty confused when it comes to this. Any kind of help would really be appreciated. Thanks.
