Installing Kitcat

Hey everyone. I wanted to flash my Galaxy Core Duos (GT-I8262) a Kitcat Build 3, I rooted it, have a custom rom, and have put the Kitcat file in my SD Card. But in recovery mode, I cannot find it. In recovery mode, i have wiped everything available, and when hit "install zip from sd card" all I see is ".../" Why?

When you say "wiped everything", do you mean that literally? The recovery is capable of wiping your SD card as well, which it sounds like you might have done.

I'd use a card reader and a computer and see whether the card was erased. If so, put the ROM .zip on there again, pop it back in the phone and try installing. If you haven't a card reader, your recovery might let you mount the card over usb (been years since I tried that), or you could use "adb sideload" to put a copy of the ROM to the phone.

You should only need to do a basic factory reset (/data and /cache) before installing a ROM. There's no need to wipe other partitions.

Interesting. You said it was showing nothing at all on the SD, which suggests that your recovery isn't able to read the card, since otherwise you should at least see the folders on the card. What recovery do you have, and is there an option to unmount and remount the card (which would be worth trying)?

I can't see a section here for that phone model, unfortunately, since with root things it's generally best to get advice from people familiar with the particular model.
