Help Insufficient space on external storage?

So I managed to switch default storage from the internal storage to the micro sd card on my tablet. But when I try to download the games it says it has insufficient space on external storage. But I have a little under 7 and a half gigabytes free. The games are 2.1 gigs each so I should have enough room. Am I doing something wrong?

I tried downloading a small app and it seems to have downloaded to the internal storage instead of the external. I used the android sdk platform-tools made sure my device was in debug mode and use the command adb shell pm set-storage-location 2
It didn't give me an error message so I assumed it worked.

I have a dragon touch y88x with kitkat 4.2 and it's not rooted.

I've since been able to get the Amazon app store to download two games to the SD card so I thought maybe all I needed to do was reset my tablet thinking maybe that was what needed to be done so I tried downloading the other two games again from the google play store. The games are Baldur's Gate Enhanced Edition 1 and 2 if that will help. Sadly it still gives me the insufficient space on external storage error when there is more than enough space.
