Interactive voicemail notification.

I used to have this expandable voicemail notification with a play and delete button so I didn't have to call in to check the voicemail. Now I just get the notification bar icon. How do I get that full interactive notification back?  I'm on Android 6.0.1

That sounds like some sort of visual voicemail service, which would very probably be from your carrier. If it is, check with your carrier about it, like you might have to re-install their app.
