Well...I actually just called them to ask. Jeremy tried to be helpful but was also either trying to pull one over on me or was seriously confused.
He said (after putting me on hold multiple times during the call) that:
1) That has always said that
2) Data means text and feature phone data, not "PDA data"
3) The rumors go into effect next month so he can't confirm them (say what? lol)
4) Family buckets are coming next month (huh?)
5) Tiered data is just a rumor

I tried to clarify #2 mostly...that feature phone data was not available in a family bucket and that it made no sense to list texts as texts and then data as texts too.
The entire conversation was mostly back-tracking on his part. He confirmed the family data bucket rumor, recanted, referred to the tiered data plans, recanted, tried to explain data meant text and/or feature phone data, then maybe it just meant data but not for smartphones, then everything was just a rumor even though it's always said that.
Oh well, I tried to get info from them and failed miserably!

the only way data would have been shared ever was on the old feature phone plan that used minuted for data. but thats been dead for 4 years? maybe more?
