Internal Memory doesn't add up right

I've been having this problem quite some time now with my Samsung S3 Mini (4.1) and I already made two factory resets and the problem comes back after a while (9 days or so) .

It's like this. (since I cannot really post any images for now)

TOTAL SPACE: 4.54GB

Applications: 412 MB
Pictures, Videos: 35.65MB
Audio: 200 KB
Misc: 3.37 MB

Available Space: 3.45 GB

It's completely impossible for my phone to occupy 1.1GB and I cleared all the caches like everybody says, but there's something eating that space. When this happens, it would now occupy all of the space and still not downloading any apps and still no cache.

Part of it is allocated to the system. You never get the full quoted amount of storage from a phone.

The problem is, days later, it would eat the whole internal memory. (Yes, 4.54 GB / 4.54 GB ) I thought it was the games that was causing the problem so I didn't install many of my fave games just to see if they are causing it.

Meanwhile, doesn't the Task Killer do anything harmful? I read about it and I did notice that I've been using it in every game I do since they don't quit naturally...

Don't use a Task Killer. They are obsolete.

Second, RAM is not the same as internal storage. Storage comes from games, cached data, music, downloaded apps...etc. That can fill up quickly. I have 16GB S3 and 32 GB card full.

Go into menu, settings, storage and figure out what is taking up space. Then act accordingly.

Well, here we go again. The storage is now decreased by a whooping 2GB and now the memory consumed is around 3GB overnight. I think the frequent usage of Task Killer is making this problem.

Let me just check on it. I will reset my phone again tonight and observe it for some days if the problem occurs again.

Anyways, do you have any suggestions on how should I close apps if they won't close even if I'm at the Home Screen already?

Don't worry about it! Android will handle everything properly for you. Just relax and enjoy your phone.

NEVER use any task killers or memory optimizers/managers.

Stop resetting your phone. You'll never figure it out that way.

Look in the storage menu and find out what is using the memory. Do a little exploring and stop patching the problem.
