Internal Memory Full/Just rooted/move apps to sd not working

Wildchild

Guys I need help. I successfully rooted my HTC Desire 516 dual sim(at least root checkers say it is rooted properly) but Link 2 SD, App2SD, apptoSd and similar programs doesn't work. I got message " Your device doesn't support moving apps to SD". It is android 4.3 Jelly Bean. I don't know what to do I'm struggle with space on internal phone :(
I'm not sure but I saw one of programs said " Your vendor remove options move to SD card"...
Any help with it would be appreciated.
Thanks

So long as the developer supports the ability to move the app to the SD it should work. Are you sure you're actually moving to the SD? Since Internal Storage is also listed as sdcard. Also, you shouldn't need any apps to move anything to the SD. Just go to Settings>Apps>(Select App) and there should be an option to move to SD Card

Yes I'm sure but... No luck with it. What do you guys think if I reinstall complete OS on phone will it solve this issue? I never done that but... I'm in will to try if there is no other solution :(

If you partition the SD card (back up first, since this is likely to delete the current content) then Link2SD should be able to move apps to the new partition. That's something different from the Gingerbread-style moving apps to SD, and doesn't rely on OS support for that.

Frankly I'd do a full backup before doing this though, just in case. I assume you have a custom recovery so can do a backup using that.

Personally I favour GParted for partitioning, though some custom recoveries used to be able to do it too (my current device doesn't have an SD slot, so I can't comment on current ones). For extfs partitions (ext3 or ext4) I would not recommend Minitool Partition Wizard - we used to see a lot of problems back with the original HTC Desire where people had used that tool and the partitions just didn't work (repartitioning with GParted would fix the problem).

Nop, it doesn't help. Simply programs reject do copy due to message "Your device doesn't support moving apps to SD" and also confirm message " Your vendor remove options move to SD card"...

OK, what exactly did you do? And what exactly is the state of the phone ("killed" means different things to different people)?

Most importantly, did you take a backup using a custom recovery before doing anything (as suggested)? If so pretty much anything is trivial to fix. Otherwise we'll need to know what exactly is wrong in order to suggest a fix (bar the generic one of finding an RUU and reflashing the phone completely).

Unless you are S-Off it's very hard to actually kill the phone (though using a recovery that was built for a different model would be potentially dangerous). As long as you can get into the bootloader most things are fixable.

I shut down my phone, take out 8GB memory card, put 2GB memory card, start it, formated card to try to copy at least 1 program to it but same answer with error can not copy... Shut down my phone, put again 8GB SD card and after I switch it on he ask me to update phone software(which I previously checked 2 times and there was none for my phone) I click download and install, phone install it and rebooted but after that he comes in loop where he make error message some android.something doesn't work. I wipe cache and wipe data and make factory reset but phone got another loop where he is trying to start and update apps but after that he restart and do same thing... literally loop. I take my phone to service hopefully it will be fixed tomorrow if not hammer is excellent to fix it, even I don't have money to by another...

OK, I guess nobody warned you not to accept system updates to a rooted phone. Often that just results in losing root, but the results are unpredictable and can be worse than that (as I'm afraid you've found). The problem is that an update is not a whole new OS, but a patch that's supposed to be applied to a particular set of software, and when you rooted you made changes to the system software which the update package isn't designed for.

A "do it yourself" fix is to find a suitable ROM Upgrade Utility (RUU) and use that to reflash your phone completely. I expect that is what your service centre will do, so hopefully this will all come back fixed (certainly an official HTC service centre will have access to the necessary software).

As for moving apps, using a different card won't change your ability to move them. That's why I suggested using a partitioned card, which would allow you to use Link2SD's other (indeed, main) capabilities. The fact that you could apply the system update however tells me that you don't have a custom recovery, which would mean you couldn't do a full system backup first.

Ouch... That was what I think about rooting... Fact is on my old samsung galaxy fit I never got that issue because system never asked me for an update and I used SuperSU... I hope tomorrow I will get phone from service and I will try with partitioned card. What type of partition to use? ext3-ext4? Itried to find some RUU but not so lucky, if you can point me on some link I would appreciated that :)

Unfortunately I've had no more luck with finding an RUU for this device either :(. Hopefully the service centre will have the necessary software though.

OK, service fix my phone. Now i need a bit another help. How to fully backup systet so I can restore it if this happened again(accidentally), how to backup my contact numbers on device and how to grab my backedup photos from google photo? I upload mostly all but I don't know how to take it back to device from google...
