"internal storage: only 1MB left" anyone getting this?

This toast notification started popping up when updating a lot of apps in Play Store. It doesn't stop anything but does slow down the store app and sometimes it crashes. Internal storage has well over 8GB left. Is this a new bug?

Saw it today on my Galaxy Nexus running 4.3. Very confusing since I immediately went to settings and I had gigabytes free of internal storage.

My Galaxy S3 also does, and still is doing it. Its not confined to one specific device. When it happens either the 'installing' phase takes far longer to complete, than normal, or Play Store lags, has trouble loading, or outright crashes. The alert varies, if you clear cache and data, the alert pops on "internal storage: only 4.58mb left" and decreases if you continue downloading/updating apps.

On my HTC One X this alert pops up too ... might be a 4.2.2 and higher thing.

I had a problem with the play store last week, where I couldn't download or update apps. Wasn't a low storage message though

Found the culprit ... it's my favorite file manager ES File Explorer :(

Catched it with the app Notification History, ES's notification was "Internal StorageSpace left: 459.37 MB", identical with a update's pop up notification.

What makes it happen with Play Store then? Never did it before, and it is incorrect about remaining space. Every time it happens, installs get 'stuck' or Play Store lags or crashes. I still say it's the Play Store. Amazon appstore, side loading and 1Mobile never cause this toast alert to pop up. Just Play Store.

I'm also not finding any such setting in ES file explorer.

On my Sony tablet with Android 4.1.1 I also haven't such ES setting, but my HTC phone with Android 4.2.2 has it: Check box "Show space low warning", "Show warning message if space is low after application is installed" (BTW, it's unchecked on my phone).

Nevertheless I get on phone and tablet these pop up messages after installing/updating an app.
But the Play Store got never stuck with the download. Your stuck issue might be a seperate issue, nothing to do with this issue of the pop up message with incorrect figures about remaining storage space.

As I posted above this analyzing tool showed me ES and its notification with the exact wording of the pop up message which came with the last app's updating. I observed that on phone and tablet.
So I know for sure that ES causes these pop up messages with the incorrect figures about remaining space.
I emailed the dev and I hope the issue will vanish with the next ES update.

By stuck I meant it gets stuck at the 'installing' phase, cue toast alert, then install succeeds. Sometimes though it can cause Play Store to fail to load anything if I browse around after the install, almost as if it is failing to cache. Seems the latter issue happens around the 'InternalStorageSpaceLeft: 1.50MB' warning. I have 15gb free on the N10. Normal install times are quite short. Whenever the toast pops up, it can be stuck for as long as five minutes with 'installing [app name]' up top, then I see toast message, then install done.

Oddly enough, clearing Play Store cache silences the warning and soon it comes back, only now it is 'InternalStorageSpaceLeft: 5.67mb' and decreases a megabyte with each install.

I'm getting the toast too on Galaxy Nexus but the storage numbers are accurate (e.g. 4.35 GB).

For better or for worse, the Jellybean "Show notifications" checkbox appears to disable all toasts from an app (even while it's in the foreground). ES doesn't really have any useful toasts other than "Press Back once more to exist" so I have unchecked the box. Now I don't see the toast anymore.

I just got this on my Droid Maxx too. I deleted ES File Explorer and installed another app and I didn't get the popup.

My wife and I are both getting this exact error on our ASUS TF300 tablets. I did a hard-reset on mine and re-installed just a few apps and I am again getting the error. My wife has almost no apps installed on her tablet, just pretty much plays words with friends and does pintrest.

Interesting enough, we both have ES File manger installed. I just uninstalled it on my tablet to see if it resolves the issue.

Got an update by ES, together with other app updates ... no messages any more :) (with the option unchecked).
Next update I'll try with option checked.

Update: On my HTC Sensation now the amount of storage on my external SD card is shown right ... but named Internal Storage :(
And the more important app storage (internal storage) is not shown.

Better I'll left the option unchecked ;)
