Internal Storage Query

For the Android 5.1.1... LG Zone 3... Went into System... Internal Storage and found that many files had checkboxes but could not find an action for a checked box. Do not want to lose anything here. What options exist for items such as images, PDFs, etc could be moved to an SD card and is there documented guidance?

The only place I've seen checkboxes in the storage menu is if you select a "make more space" option, though I've never used that phone. So I'd be wary of ticking them, because if you've wandered into that function then they would be selecting things to delete.
