Root [International] A couple of Rooting questions

Well im a newbie at Android and i have some questions about rooting and custom roms. These questions may seem ver basic and obvious but i dont know much about rooting. Any help would be great.

1) Are custom roms work only on certain model numbers? What i mean is that if i have two s3 one from Verizon and international version. After rooting, will custom roms work on both versions regardles of model numbers or one rom working on Verizon will not work on international one or vice versa.


2) Is rooting process same on each version of S3 or are there any differences?

1. No, ROMs meant for the International version are only usable for the International model (GT-I9300). Do not attempt to flash them on a different one (E.g. Verizon version), it will brick the phone. Read through the release notes and make sure which specific model of GS3 it has been developed for.

2. Depending on the model you have, rooting may take different steps, the international version is very easy to root. I heard the Verizon version has a locked bootloader, so you can't flash custom ROMs.
