Root [International] New to rooting samsung galaxy s3

Hi all , I've just rooted my Samsung galaxy s3 tonight after reading about it and what it can unlock .
I'm stuck now where to go and where to get the apps/ROMs etc . I've got the SuperSU icon and that's it .
I've tried to download the freedom.apk app through google and it says started downloading but it isn't , there isn't a download icon on the stauus bar , I can download through play store tho . Why cant I download from google ?

Where do I look for the apps/ROMs ? play store ? google ?

As far as freedom.apk, we cannot provide direction to that. It's an app that cheats developers and bypasses IAP, and we won't go there k? ;)

As far as roms etc, what method did you use to root and what android version are you on?
The reason I ask, is because if you are on version 4.4.x, there are limited roms you can install.
If you are on 4.3.x, there are several, but not a whole lot.

However, if you are interested in tweaking the way your phone looks, there is an app call the Xposed Framework

That is needed to install the countless modules (apk's with different tweaks) to modify your device:)

Now, if you are interested in Xposed, just be sure to read what is compatible with your device.
Some modules will not work.
Also, be sure to have things backed up just in case your phone goes into a bootloop and you have to reset it. ;)

So back to roms, what root method and android version do you have?

Did that root method also install a custom recovery? If so, do a full nandroid backup in your recovery before you do anything else. I'd also recommend you back up your EFS folder as well in case you loose your IMEI when flashing. Philz recovery has option to do this, and kTool also does it (think it's still on Play Store). For ROMs xda used to be a good resource but a lot of the ROMs now have more up to date G+ communities. Then it's just deciding what ROMs to try, do you want Touchwiz or AOSP for example. Reading up first and asking questions is best way to go if you're unsure of anything.

Ive tried to download that xposed framework through my phone but I wont download . It goes up saying starting downloading but the icon at the top doesnt appear and in the download file on the phone theres nothing . Any ideas ?

Just click on the link I provided above. (click on the words "Xposed Framework") ;)

Edit: I moved your thread into your device/carriers root forum from the Verizon root forum...I didn't realize you had a different model/carrier ;)

Hi friends,

I rooted my I9300 4.3 for the first time (CF-Autoroot). I followed the guides on XDA forums step by step and got to point where i should backup everything with either TWRP or Clockworkmod.

I chose to go with TWRP, installed it and when i try to do a classical backup it tells me the new version of TWRP is only able to backup to internal storage. i went ahead with backup and device rebooted.

I am not sure if i may proceed with flashing ROM's at this point. TWRP doesn't give me an option to backup EFS.. etc. I couldn't find information on threads regarding this issue. and i was not allowed to post on developer threads where TWRP tutorial was on xda forums:http://forum.xda-developers.com/gala...overy-t1943592

Am i doing something wrong?

Thank you all for your help
