Root [International Tegra 3] CyanogenMod10 Camera GONE

Hi Phandroid community,

This is my first proper post here, barring intro :D

I've just gotten my HOX on virgin, rooted it immediately and am currently using the CM10 ROM here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1786696

It's beautiful and so fluid, BUT the camera has disappeared!! just gone... I ran CM9 for a few hours and it was the same there (i.e. no camera) so flashed CM10 and still nothing. It's literally not there!

I've installed the camera360 app which is great, but would like the stock camera to work...

for the record, this is my 4th android handset (desire, SGSII (lost), huawei g300 (replacement)) and I've run numerous custom ROMs... always been OK.

This time there was an issue as when I did my first backup and wipe... I tried to restore and got a boot loop. Managed to install the CM9 zip and GAPPS using CWM recovery and flashed, but no camera. could this have been when it happened???

Over to the boffins...

Thanks

Auntie Mable.

actually that's wrong...

the camera was there in CM9, but I installed CM10 with the ICS GAPPS initially, and noticed no camera. Thought it was to do with the ICS GAPPS, so got the JB GAPPS, wiped and reflashed using them, still to no avail.

thanks

First off welcome to the site!

That is very strange...Have you tried downloading a nightly version of CM10 instead? or maybe a different Jelly Bean ROM?

Have you tried to do this before upgrading to a newer version of CM ?

If going to JB from ICS :
optional but 80-90% recommended : format internal SD card, then copy CM10 + GAPPS on SD;
-reboot recovery;
-wipe data/factory reset and cache;
-wipe dalvik cache;
optional : wipe battery stats;
-install from scratch CM10+GAPPS

...give it another try, you missed a spot...
AND 90% sure you installed JB over ICS...
