This is my first time installing ROM. im stucked in a bootloop error on my HTC one X. I already tried wiping data/cache/delvik and still having issues.
EDIT:
i panicked so i went to recovery mode and restored my backup to my stock ROM.
i really had no idea why the issue occurs. any way i could prevent this? im pretty much sure i followed the instruction on how to install a ROM
If you're flashing ROMs on a regular basis, this is going to happen and is nothing to worry about. It's happened to me countless times before (with the last ROM I flashed actually) and it will happen again. The key thing is not to panic, as long as you have your backup, you'll be fine.
Did you flash the boot.img using the fastboot commands before flashing the ROM? Did you also erase the cache?
Hi sir, i downloaded a 2.8.31 version from miuandroid forums and the attempt to install ROM was successful. i just didn't know why the first try failed; i downloaded it from the miui.us
the instructions says i need to flash the boot.img and type several commands; but somehow i missed that part and thought that i just need to place the ROM.zip inside my phone and install it via clockwork which amazingly worked!
has it been a standard procedure to first place the "zip" file rom onto the storage of my phone and then install it using clockwork? and skipping the flashboot command stuff?
