Root [International Tegra 3] Still no 4.1.1 on unlocked One X

Hi all,

So I bought a HTC One X a while ago second hand that's unlocked back in November and have not so patiently been waiting for the 4.1.1 update as I'm still stuck on 4.0.4 with no sign of the update.
It is the international version of the phone.

I have tried a number of things including:
- going to about and trying to get a manual update
- killing the google framework services and clearing data and then checking for update

Then I tried doing a factory reset and searching for an update, still nothing.

I then tried to root the phone as I thought that I would try installing a ROM to get the features as I couldn't hold out for Jellybean anymore. After following several guides and using various different methods, I was still unable to root it.
BUT I found that clockworkrecovery is installed on the phone already it seems, even though superuser can't access grant root access (i.e. it's not rooted). I tried installing various different ROMs through this but they always failed and I had to recover it every time with a nandroid backup and flash the boot.img

What I'm asking is either why haven't I received my update, or is it possible that the person who sold me the phone unlocked it somehow without rooting it (which is why clockwork is on there) but the phone was originally locked to a network which is why I haven't received the update?

Thanks in advance to everyone

Here is the screen shot

I'm almost certain I'm running the stock rom with htc sense on it as I've never altered it

Yeah, I was just checking as you said CWM was on there already.

The ROMs are probably failing because your firmware (hboot) isn't compatible with the JellyBean boot.img.

When you attempt to update, does it just fail or does it download and you're taken to recovery?

Your best bet sounds to be an RUU, but you'd need to relock the bootloader for that.
