Root [International Tegra 3] Trouble installing custom kernal

Hey guys,

I just tried installing faux's kernal, flashed successfully but it won't go past the boot screen. Faux's page said the first boot might take a while but still got nothing 10 mins in. Any suggestions?

Hi try this if you are having trouble. Just connect phone via usb and start prog and follow instructions. All you need to do is add the folder with the kernel in. This will sort you out if you have trouble with ADB REGARDS PAUL
DOWNLOAD HERE
Bricked installer

I'm running Team Venom's Viper X. (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1745176) I did erase the cache but this is my first kernel install so I just flashed faux's ultimate edition. (faux123-011u) Got stuck in a boot-loop so I downloaded Bricked (the one Paul25 posted) and flashed that. Phone seems to be running buggy though. Its slower, unresponsive at times and drains my battery like a succubus. Also got a score of 4.5 something, lower than the stock HOX score. Anyway, the phone was still running for a day but my battery ran out last night and when I finally got to charging it, it never got past the boot screen. I've read good things about Bricked so I don't know what the problem is.

Anyway, what's this about flashing the relevant modules?

The modules are a flashable zip file you need to flash in recovery after flashing the boot.img in fastboot. How have you been doing things? Can you go through it step by step?

TBH, I've tried many kernels with Viper and Stock is the most stable and gives me the best battery life. Bricked is good, but mainly for AOSP ROMs like AOKP & CM10.

Also, I'd try Faux Mainline as opposed to Ultimate, I don't think the ultimate version is supported is it?

So I downloaded the kernel zip, flashed the boot.img in fastboot first, then went in recovery and flashed the actual zip file (faux123-011u). After it said that it successfully flashed, it showed CWM's menu and I selected reboot phone after which it got stuck in a bootloop. Searched on here if I could find something relevant and then posted. Then toggled USB mode on, put bricked on there, flashed the boot.img for that and flashed that from CWM.

That guy seemed to have experienced something similar. I apparently have to run some kind of script. I have no clue how to go about it though.

Thanks Paul. I thought you posted the bricked kernel the first time. Haven't tried flashing a new kernel yet. Will keep you posted when I get to it.
