Root [International Tegra 3] Which RUU version do I need?

Hey there

I am reverting everything back to stock but I do not know which RUU version I need.

I am following a tutorial on xdaforums and it says I need to find something called "version-main" by booting into fastboot and entering a code:

This is what I got:

version-main: 3.14.401.600

From running this command:

Code:
fastboot getvar version-main

Which version should I download? I am assuming this one?

RUU_ENDEAVOR_U_ICS_40_FET_TW_1.28.950.9_Radio_1.1204.103.14_release_256483_signed.exe

Here is the list of RUUs:

Directory listing of http://www.htcruu.com/Endeavor
FileFactory Folder View - Endeavor

My phone supposedly doesn't belong to a certain carrier but is factory unlocked, by the way.

Thank you

Well.. that didn't work out

I am assuming it's because the version on my phone is 3.14.401.600 which, as far as I can tell, is newer than all the RUUs I see on the two websites, and in the tutorial it says:

NOTE: You can't use a lower numbered file eg 1.26.401.x and you also can't use a file from a different region eg 2.17.707.x.

What can I do? How do I revert back to stock? This is frustrating.

Are you on a Jellybean ROM at the moment? Without S-OFF, I'm not sure it's possible to downgrade at the moment, you'd need the specific Jellybean RUU.

I'll do some digging when I get in from work.

Hey there! Good to see you again, mate.

I took an easier route and am currently downloading this:

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1546970

It seems to be less of a hassle since I'll just place the ROM in the SD card and install it from there, of course after flashing the boot.img; however, I do not understand what the recovery.img is for?

I screwed a lot of things up and am reinstalling Viper as we speak. lol

You'll need to flash the stock recovery image so you can accept OTA updates from HTC. You can't use clockwork to flash official OTA's & you can't use HTC's official recovery to flash custom ROM's.

How are you getting on with the restore?

Well I am confused right now. I already installed Viper and am using it just fine, although I woke up to find there was no signal at all, which has been happening quite often lately and I cannot tell if it's from the ROM or the sim card or the device itself, which is why I wanted to revert to stock in the first place so if anything is wrong I can take it to HTC.

How do I go about reverting to stock? I am confused as I mentioned before.

This is the ROM I downloaded: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1546970 and it is supposedly stock and untouched.

How do I go about installing it and reverting EVERYTHING back to stock? I don't need a deep, detailed tutorial but just a few simple steps on what needs to be done first, second, third, etc.

Thank you

Sorry, I completely missed your responses :o

You should be able to revert back to stock, no issues. On your hboot screen, can you tell me what your hboot version is and what your modem/baseband/radio is?

That sucks to know, mate. Is there a certain website that I can keep up-to-date with the latest ROMs for the One X and things like that? Perhaps one that would post as soon as Jelly Bean is available for the One X? Thanks!

Well I decided to flash the stock Ice Cream Sandwich ROM from the SD Card and then I installed Rooting Tools as well for Busy Box and ROOT privileges. So far the ROM has been great, but from my experience they start to slow down just a little bit after you install applications and keep using it for a few days.

I am going to be testing it for at least two or three days and see how long the battery lasts, how stable the ROM is (seems very stable already, though), and most importantly whether or not it'll drop network or internet connection.

Hoping for the best.

There are a few things I'll miss, though, most importantly the quick icons in the drawer of Team Venom's Viper ROM. There wouldn't be an application to install them, would there? That would be awesome as right now this is what I am missing the most; I just loved the quick access (sort of like SBSettings for iPhones).

EDIT: I spoke too soon.. there seems to be one on the Play Store https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=apocalipsisx.controlpanel

Ha ha.. yeah I know. The application I linked above isn't as good as I expected it to be. It works efficiently but it's different from the one that was in the Viper ROM. You have to activate the drawer, tap the Control Panel icon, and then you get the quick settings icons which you tap to activate and tap again to deactivate. In Viper you just activate the drawer and you find all the quick settings on top and you slide left and right for all of them. Also the quick settings tab on the bottom was even better, I always activated it.

Is there anything like that for ICS from the Play Store or wherever? Can I take that drawer from the Viper ROM? Ha ha.

I decided to go for Extended Controls since it seems better and more customizable. I'll update you with my experience. :D

Thanks, bud! By the way, we've been posting back and forth for a long time but I still haven't gotten your name?

Wow this is weird. I have had the phone for a while but only now did I try to use Google Talk and Google+ but both won't connect; Talk does nothing except saying signing in and Google+ keeps saying "Cannot connect to server" even though I am certain my internet connection is working fine (tried both Wi-Fi and then 3G) and I can use Chrome, for instance, without problems. That's really weird. I'll try playing in the Sync settings, perhaps it has something to do with that, and then the last resort would be to reboot the phone, since that seems to fix a lot of issues.

Nope, but perhaps one of the applications I installed may have more than one purpose, for instance, one of which is a firewall? I am sure it would have asked me permission first, though. I've been wanting to type the names of all the applications I have on the device for future reference anyway, so I am going to do that now.

I Googled for a while until I found a solution to the problem. I went to Manage Apps and then uninstalled updates from Google+. I totally forgot that about an hour and a half ago I got 12 update notifications from the Play Store, 10 of which were under Automatic Updates while 2 were under Manual updates, one of them being Google+ and the other Facebook.

As soon as I uninstalled updates and "went back to factory version" or whatever it worked just fine!

Google Talk still isn't working, however. It just won't "sign-in" or at least go online, there's an "x" icon next to my profile as well as all the people in my contact list. I am going to attempt to remove it and reinstall it from the Play Store, hopefully that'll fix it.

By the way, since I don't remember the last time I actually used Google Talk, is it somehow linked to Google+? Does it show my Google+ contacts or is it separate?

I unfortunately still cannot get Talk to work on my device, which is very frustrating and annoying because Google + and all other Google services work fine. I guess I'll either have to live with it or find an IM application that supports it.

Hi! Sorry to bother; it seems that literally every site I try to download the ORANG001 (061) RUU for my phone, it either doesn't have the one I need or is a dead thread/site. Could someone please help me at the earliest convenience, as I'm half way through unrooting my phone and I can't use it at all until I have completed the process. I just need a FRESH link to the RUU and I'm sorted.

HTC One X, running a custom ROM; I require the ORANG001 RUU for my device.
