Root [International Tegra 3] Why there is no one click rooting?

Hello folks,

I am desperately looking for a firewall and learning that it is impossible to have a REAL firewall without rooting. I have HTC One X and I found few rooting All-In-One rooting options, like this one. The problem is, this is All-in-One. And even after the developer has given decent information, I am still confused a lot, just because I am not a geek and I don't know whats best for me. All I want is rooted phone which works almost as it works without rooting (but with rooting), if I am clear in what I mean. Something like Absinthe jailbreaking for iOS 5.2.

I wonder, why there is no one click rooting for particular device, using flash recovery or ROM or whatever other stuff involved in this process, that the developer thinks best in his/her opinion. If someone disagrees with the developer, they should just not use that rooting utility.

I wonder, if such thing is too cumbersome.

Thanks in advance (and apologies for ignorance because of my un-geekiness)

@ deltaforce: I don't have all your answers, but try reading this thread (and the links provided within) to help answer most of your questions about what root is and a few methods on how to do it:

While 'one click' solutions are nice, many times they are not the best as the scripts don't play nice with everyone's computer the same. I always recommend knowing how it is done manually at the very least so that if you still chose a 'one click' solution and it fails somewhere along the way, you will know what went wrong and/or how to finish the job.

good luck

To add to the above, the software has become more complex, and over time exploits and loopholes that allowed one clicks to work have all been patched. It is quite simply, many many times harder to add superuser access to the phones operating system than it used to be.

While unlocking the bootloader seems complicated,it allows a custom recovery to either be installed,or temporarily booted, allowing the superuser files to be installed.

If you do not permantly install recovery, your phone will have root access, yet still function completely like stock,as long as you do not delete system applications and files. This seems would be the best solution for you.

Just holler if you have more questions about the concept,or the process :)
