Root [International] URGENT!! A load of questions

Ok, so few day ago, i get the updates notif from my samsung galaxy s3 (rooted with CF-Root-SGS3-v6.4, still stock ROM)
when rebooted failed to updates the firmware, after few hours search.
get results, it need unrooted..
in unroot process, it need stock firmware, is that i need to download the bigger size stockfirmware (latest one)? cause that what i need (to get the latest update) when flash it with odin.
but in this method..
i want to unroot in order to get OTA updates of latest firmware (it size about 30 mb , if im not mistaken via OTA)
that why, i dont want to updates by using odin method (which need to flash stock firmware)

another question, which custom rom that suitable for my phone?
which include the update from OTA?

You dont have to install updates via Odin. You can download to SD card and use recovery.

You cannot update custom ROMs using official OTA, however VillainRom will shortly have an OTA app for installing Villain ROM updates.

I see no reason to want to get OTA updates of unrooted official firmware when custom firmwares are so much better.

I see no reason to want to get OTA updates of unrooted official firmware when custom firmwares are so much better.= what custom firmware u refer too? (not get it)

btw, it is really necessary to flash stock firmware in order to become unroot?
while, on my phones, nothing changed, what i do is just rooted with cf-root 6.4, is that rooted with that have effect on ROm and firmware?

Sorry, not OTA. Custom ROMs.

Not yet. No one is doing it yet. But villain will be doing shortly. Not sure what OTA brongs really. The files are massive. Better to use a computer anyway

All Custom ROMs are better than official as they are tweaked for better performance

so "You can download to SD card and use recovery" mean on custom rom?
how to do that?

what files u refer to?
if u say using computer - refer to odin( because need stock firmware ) and isn't it also have a massive size? via OTA more smaller ?

All Custom ROMs are better than official as they are tweaked for better performance
so custom firmware = custom rom?
which one is better (ROM)?

i will re-ask again (sorry, im still beginner)
I have rooted my phones with cf-root 6.4
I'm trying to get the updates (firmware) = I9300XXALF6..
currently my versiion is I9300XXALE8, and my kernel, ROM, etc is stock one.. from phones (OTA = right?)
but it stop (fail) on halfway when rebooted to updates (because rooted).

so to get updates, what should i do? not by using KIES (because it also ask to unroot <if i am not mistaken>)

and not via odin (the download size for the firmware is to massive), my internet download speed is not quick.. (sometimes timeout)

do you have any solution? or should i flash custom room? if flash custom rom then how to get update firmware and maybe android version to jelly bean <maybe>?

The answer is, just flash custom ROMs. They are better than official as they will keep root and be better for battery life and performance. Forget about official OTA updates.

because updates is already included on the latest custom ROM, right?
if im not wrong, most custom rom get the updates (leaked) faster than the official one, right?
if i flash custom rom, is that it will erase all my apps system and data?
and is that void the warranty?

and the reason, i want to updates, is to prevent my phones to light up for no reasons. do you ever face the problems like that, sir?

can you please give me the list of custom ROM that sir think the best (either perfomance and battery, etc)?

THX's...:)<i Appreciated that>

Yes, indeed

Yes

Not if you flash a Samsung official based custom ROM. You can keep everything.

and is that void the warranty?

No more than you are already. You can return it to stock if you need to send it in for warranty repair. Also take a nandroid backup from CWM before you flash any rom.

I don't think so.

can you please give me the list of custom ROM that sir think the best (either perfomance and battery, etc)?

Everything you need is there ^^

Most go for Omega (not the AOKP version). However, Wanam Lite is good also. Whether they are best for performance or battery, I don't know. This is different for everyone.

what's AOSP based ROM?

to return to stock is just need to flash stock ROM/firmware, right?

AOSP = Android Open Source Project. Basically its the source code to build android yourself (or a dev more likely) on their own machiens and release it as a fully functioning ROM. AOKP and Cyanogen are based on this. You need to wipe all data to flash one of these.

and on samsung based custom ROM, do i need to wipe all user data?

and 1 kinda OOT question.
it's about "Triangle Away" apps, after installed and download some needed data, i check the current status and reset flash counter- it says status cannot e determined, need to reboot into special bootmode, ok, so i pressed on reset flash counter again, it ask permission, with some warning, and i click continue, after that it start reboot, and in special bootmode, i push volume + buttons(to reset flash counter), then after that, it boot again, after that check the current status and it still can't determined my device..

can you give me solutions to fix that?
thx in advanced.

I have already answered this.

It just doesn't work on your rom. Flashing a custom rom would probably fix it

hi, thx for so many answer, 1 (actually 3) more question, after re-read the op of cf-root 6.4, CF says that cf-root (cwm) support ota updates, so is that because after flash cwm touch, i cant updates with OTA? can i update firmware via kies, rooted? why some of my apps sometimes force close? is that because the apps i install use too big ram? need factory reset? wipe all apps data + system?

You will lose root if you update via OTA / Kies.

Just flash a custom ROM. Omega 7.x for example.

then some of my apps sometimes force close? is that because the apps i install use too big ram? need factory reset? wipe all apps data + system?
help?
