Just wondering who here has tried IE9, its still in beta but it actually looks like a decent web browser. Personally I've tried it along with beta's for Chrome and Firefox and while Chrome performed the best IE had the coolest feature I have ever seen in my life for a web browser. You can now directly pin web pages to your taskbar but instead of a normal shortcut it actually has tasks if the website is supported such as facebook.

While I am aware that most people on the site use Chrome or Firefox I thought id ask who here has tried it.

I don't know that I can even bring myself to try it...I am too attached to chrome. I was a loyal IE user for along time but I don't think I can go back, even if it is improved.

I havent used IE in forever but I was bored so I figured I would try it, way better than I thought but firefox all the way for me

It's all about Chrome for me. The only time I will use IE is if Chrome is not supported (for example, a beta application for a game I recently applied for had a small plug in that was required to list your system specs (I guess they don't just trust DXDIAG anymore)). I could not do it in Chrome, so I fired up IE.

While I am not going to download it at this point, what else do you (the op) like about it? If there are many reasons, I may give it a shot...

IE 9 is faster, supports JavaScript better, and has hundreds of little tweaks (some of which are, admittedly, pure ganks from other browsers) - all in all, it is a much better browser than IE 8.

However, Firefox 4 beta 7 64bit is the way to go for me :D

I love Chrome. I think it still wins on almost all benchmark tests. I saw it on a web site somewhere.

In any case I won't be able to use IE9 since I run linux, and a little bird told me Microsoft will be releasing a linux version just around the time when Hell freezes over.

yeah basically if you are running windows it will be faster boot up, and have better fps on most websites with video/movement. It's seriously worth checking out. Personally I use firefox nightlies.

IE9 beta doesn't work too well on netbooks, many sites including this and phandroid.com end up with nasty horizontal scroll bars. Whereas Chrome my favourite browser displays all sites correctly and without horizontal scroll bars on a netbook.

Among all web browsers I like IE the most.I am quite pleased that you have mentioned topic and provide the links for the latest version of IE.As per my thoughts Pinned Sites,One Box,Tab functionality are quite interesting features for this version.

Ie is only installed on my work machine because it has to be. I do all my web work on either FF or Chrome. I can't see myself switching to IE any time soon.

I loaded the IE beta on my HP laptop. So far I'm suitably impressed. The browser seems to be faster and more polished than IE 8. Were it not for the fact that it's a beta release I'd likely beat on it more heavily to find it's limitations.
