so i bought a factory unlocked int'l version ion because i wanted more megapixels (yes, i know they aren't everything, but with the sony phone/cams they are since the cams in the phones are fantastic). the sound quality in my xperia arc s was fantastic--which is important to me as i am very music oriented. the sound in the ion....SUCKS. does anyone know if the sound in the external speaker in both the at&t model and the int'l model are both poor or did i just get a dud phone? i can't believe sony would blow it in the next generation of phones after the arcs were so well put together.... :/ the reviews that have started to come out weren't promising....

I've been using an ion for a few weeks now and honestly the speaker quality on the one I've been using is good. If possible try to compare your phone to another ion from AT&T just to see if that is the normal sound on your phone or maybe is not working properly.

I have just got my Ion, so another late response from me.
I like the sound quality on mine (on Rogers, Canada). It isn't especially loud when played through the phone speaker, but the quality is there for me. Slightly off-topic, I also love the Walkman music player. I had installed Power Amp on my Arc, but I prefer the Walkman to that.
