IP68

I've looked up the definition. It said that 6 is the highest stand for solid/dust so that it's a complete protection/blockage against solid of any size.

Well, but this is the definition.

When I look up the charging ports or other ports of many mobile devices that claim to be of IP68 standard, I can observe that most of them (In fact all of them) have some dark areas, which looks like it is going into the inner circuit boards or components of the phone.

In that case, how can it be "complete" protected?
Or does it mean solid/dust could still go into the inner of the phone but it has no way damaging the phone or affecting its functionality?

This is what I have been wondering for quite some time, asking out of curiosity

There has to be something that goes into the body of the phone, or else the connector cannot make a connection. But it should be sealed, which most likely means some sort of grommet around the point where the connector passes through the casing to close any gap.
