iPhone 4 or Samsung Captivate?

I've owned an original iPhone since launch and am now ready to upgrade.

Im considering iPhone 4 or the Captivate. If the iPhone didn't have antenna issues, I would most likely have already made my decision. However this isn't the case so I'm looking at other options (leaving AT&T isn't one of them).

So I just have a few questions regarding Android.

Can you backup apps, settings, contacts (everything) to your Mac or PC like an iPhone can? (I know about doubletwist, but thats just music and movies, right?)

When Android updates come out, can every phone take advantage of it? For example, if I were to buy the captivate, will I for sure be able to upgrade to Android 3.0?

Lastly, what are big features (besides visual customization) that an Android phone has to offer over iPhone?

I'm very on the fence about which phone to purchase. There is the potential antenna issue regarding the iPhone 4, however I've also been hearing the Captivate is having its fair share of problems. Any suggestions?

contacts and calanders get backed up through your google account.
doubletwist does movies music and pictures
but honestly the reason i got away from apple is because i hate itunes. i prefer click and drop for my music and movies.

there is also lookout which can backup your photos, call log and other stuff everynight. it also has many other features like gps location and screaming if you lose it in your house

as for upgrades you will not be guarenteed 3.0 because htc is the only one with a contract with google for every update. so samsung would have to buy the 3.0 rights for the captivate and then work in the upgrade. So my bet would be if the captivate is still samsung's top phone when 3.0 is released you will get it. otherwise you might be left behind.

the samsung captivate does not have the feature to install unauthorized apps (att's doing) however there is still a ton of apps on the market.

As for big features, im not sure what the iphone offers, but my friends that own iphones are always impressed with the multi-tasking. (i know iphone claims to be able to do this. but droid does it just like windows would, For instance im on a webpage i get a call, answer it, then decide to play a game while on the phone, i stop because my mom wanted me to upload a picture of my daughter to facebook, i do that then hang up the phone, continue my game from where i left, remember i was on the internet, go back to browser where the page is still loaded (all three tabs) all while listening to pandora)
theres several other features too but i always forget them till someone points out its amazing that my phone does that.

(sorry for grammer but i typed alot and dont feel like fixing it)
