iPhone coming soon

First US Cellular gets it on Nov. 8th, and now Boost Mobile.

It will be interesting to see if any other companies also announce a release data for November 8th similar to how many MVNOs released the 5s/5c in October.

Apple used to be the exclusive brand that lured customers into 2 year rimmi... Sorry. I mean contracts. Long since they have watered down the product. As I understand it 4s on up is coming to Boost. Meaning 4s. 5. 5s. 5c.

Even the boost mobile website itself is touting the "coming soon" mantra. It is not a rumor anymore. It is a fact. Only a matter of time.
 
I don't fully get the significance here. I know in the UK low-cost "supermarket" carriers such as Tesco Mobile have been offering the iPhone for years. So it's almost like every chav and his dog can have one, so there's basically no real exclusivity or prestige to the thing. Didn't think it was like that in the States, thought all carriers offered it these days.

See here in China the iPhone is exclusive to certain select carriers, while the cheapest and largest carrier doesn't have it (China Mobile).
 
There's a lot of things that goes on over on this side of the pond that doesn't over there.

Over here Harley Davidson is the exclusive brand of manly men. Over there not so much. Right?

Over here (until recently) the Apple phone was the brand that everyone strives for and if you had one of those you were part of the "in" crowd. When the phone came to AT&T exclusively people left the other companies in droves. There was probably mass ETF payments like no other time but there's not statistics on that. Once Mr. Jobs was out of the picture though the iPhone has come to more and more prepaid carriers. Boost's other sister, Virgin, got the phone not long ago.

Either people are not buying the phones and Sprint (and other carriers) are not filling out the quota that they promised to Apple and are having to sell it through their prepaid brands or Apple is not selling as much as they'd hoped and are pushing the carriers to sell it at lower obligations. On either scenario it means that the phone is not as "elite" as it once was.

The iPhone killer has finally arrived. It is the iPhone!
 
I think some of you are missing the Golden Lining here; Boost is going to offer a flagship/premium phone.

Boost may finally buckle and offer us flagship phones during their heyday and not a year past their prime.

Think about flying a Galaxy Note 3 a month after its release and not a year ...

While you do have a valid point and you're probably on the money on that conclusion it never occurred to me. Mainly because I STAY behind the flagships. I only get the flagship phones a year or more after they've been on the market or they've been replaced by another flagship phone.

If Boost starts offering flagship phones I'm not in their target list. I'm holding on to the Prevail like grim death since any upgrade is going to cost me an extra $5 a month. I got into the Prevail just in time to get grandfathered into the $35 a month plan, after shrinkage. While I cant say much about Sprint's 3g coverage I can say this, all you can eat at $35 a month fits me well. Abysmal speeds? Dont care. $5 more a month? Unacceptable!

Family Mobile has been offering the iPhone for a while at $35 a month. Unlimited talk and text, no data. For $10 more I'll get high speed data from Tmobile's towers. Unlike Sprint, Tmobile actually has 4g coverage around my neck of the woods... but i just cant bring myself to pay that price.

The iPhone will win Boost many converts, specially with shrinkage. But I'm not going to be one of them. Dont get me wrong. This is great news. But in my corner of the lake it creates barely a ripple.

I believe in value also.

Think: If Boost offers new flagships they cannot overprice year-old models.

Currently the Boost S3 is *cough* about $150 over-priced. If recent models were offered, the S3 would be offered at a market price with little/no inflation.

I have been rocking my S2 for over a year now, but given some value ... and I might upgrade.

PS. My Prevail with CT-Mod is my backup and ... my cold dead hand is locked tight on it.
 
I think maybe you're asking the wrong audience. The ones who jumped ship or got the iPhone aren't on this forum. Perhaps they didn't really spend time at this forum to begin with!
