IPhone convert -- SGIII or HTC One X?

Hey guys, I want to try android out and I'm not sure to go with the SGIII or HTC One X. I have had an iPhone 4 for two years and iOS is just getting stale; and I'm not too happy about losing Google maps with iOS 6. The only concern I have with the HTC One X is it looks like the multitasking is really screwed up. When you reopen apps it reloads? Would I be better off going with the SGIII?
 
this is the wrong forum to be asking that question but, if you want something with a set amount of memory like your iphone got with the One X, if you want a removable battery and up to 128gb of storage(if they give us the 64gb S3) then get the S3.:D
 
Galaxy S3. It has a removable battery, and expandable storage. And my preference is for touchwiz over sense.
 
Trust me, you will want the S3. Check out this vid for just a few examples of why. This is some crazy cool stuff.

And then of course, you'll also want to check out the "tectiles" feature with the S3.

But beyond all that, having a replaceable battery, expandable storage and THE fastest phone on the market, it's hands down the S3. Only thing HTC has going for it, is a slightly better screen. But when HTC has to send out pamphlets to "educate" sales people to counter the advantages of the S3 (specifically the S3), you know HTC realizes they are behind.
 
Not to mention the SGS3 is faster...

Obviously benchmarking isn't real life, so lets not carried away but..

Wolfson DAC = awesome sound from phone's earpeace, rear speaker and Bluetooth. USB music out. Picture in picture. Face detection for timing out the screen.

Just a few things I'm looking forward to on the GS3.
 
It's getting to the point where there's no real choice in Android phones but Samsung.

If you buy LG, Sony, HTC, even Motorola, you are buying a definite second tier device at this point. Sad but true.

In my mind, only Samsung has the sheer $ to iron out most of the kinks, and do cool stuff like S-Voice and Smart Stay. Go to the HTC One X forum, it's loaded with people complaining about basically, quality control problems. Sure there are plenty such complaints in this forum or any phone forum, but it's markedly less here than there.

thats true....thats why with Google owing motorola im expecting something big. they have the $ to do that big stuff....
 
I am going to check out the SGIII at my local AT&T or Best Buy as soon as they get them in stock. As long as the multitasking works like it should I will be sold. I can't stand this multitasking on my HTC One X. I feel like I am using my iPhone 3GS running iOS 3.0. Sure, the One X screen may be a "little" bit better but all in all I think the SGIII will be better. I'm really liking the sound of the smart stay feature. Thats really innovative. I just hope the battery life is good on the phone.

Is the SGIII still slated for a June 21st release in the US on AT&T?
 
I have a little bit of fondness for HTC what with my last phone being the HTC Droid Incredible, but in my opinion, Samsung seems much more capable of hitting the sweet spot between power and battery life which HTC has never had much luck balancing (as far as I know). The S3 is probably the all around better choice.
 
Only thing as I hear it that the One X has on it is a bit better screen. Other than that S3 wins hands down. Don't forget the wireless charging coming soon that doesn't need a plug into the USB port.

I agree with the lg, sony, and HTC but Motorola has really good phones and that keep them updated and thair are only minor complaints

When it comes to choice Android is just that but Samsung is not the only player for Android.. Yes Samsung have a big impact with Android, their numbers even succeed Apple here and there. Motorola has it's niche but to me their product is robust, they have no polish or elegance with their products. HTC make great phones imo and they where doing well until Apple start suing them, they are a young company in the mobile game and that's the only reason Apple gets to bully them. HTC still do well but they was on a fast pace before the litigations. Every phone that gets release has issues, folks seem to pay more attention to the complains as oppose to the positive. Yes LG,Sony and Motorola don't get the buzz as some OEM but they are still players in the mobile game. To be fair, HTC has a good record of updating their phones and fixing problems with their phones. In the end the choice comes down to the individual and if they are happy with LG, Sony,Motorola, HTC or Samsung then that's all that matters.
 
No contest, SG3 all the way, if you take a look on the One X forum it seems to be having rather a lot of teething niggles too..!!!
 
I would say wait and play with both and decide. You won't be disappointed with either as they each have their pros and cons:
one x- nicer screen, a little smaller form factor, some say better camera in low light although no removable battery or expandable storage
Sgs3- larger screen, a little more optimized on the software front, expandable storage and removable battery- cons are some hate the plastic Samsung uses, but I have never had any issues with build quality of Samsung devices it has always been the htc devices that had built quality issues over time.
 
I say get the Skyrocket and use it for a week or so. then decide, and swap to the Samsung Galaxy S III or HTC One X ;)

I bet you end up getting the Samsung Galaxy S III. The interface is so much better than the HTC One X. Yes the screen is nicer on the HTC, but to me that's it. And yes, I've used the HTC One X (for two weeks or so).

HTC faltered because they were making sub par buggy phones, apple suing them had very little to do with them losing money. The one series is a step in the right direction but may be too little too late.

You can go compare the skyrocket next to the vivid( both have same processor) and see how much Samsung optimized the phones and their software to work better with the QUALCOMM chip. It is weird HTC has not been able to figure out how to make their software more optimized in the way Samsung has done and I can see this being the same way, with using the same s4 chip in the one x and sgs3

Tell me more about this. I've really digged (dug?) the Sense UI on my past Dinc, T-bolt, and Rezound and was actually hoping that this phone would be HTC. FWIW, My Rezound has been my best phone ever, Processor, size, UI, everything. Just very smooth operation and holdable. I'm going to miss it

Without discussing other launchers, do you know what I can expect from Touch-Wiz vs Sense
