Sorry if this has been answered before but I couldn't see it anywhere.

I know a lot of websites now use an "apple-touch-icon" file to allow iPhone users to put a logo'd bookmark onto their homescreen. Is there a way to do similar on Android (specifically HTC Sense).

Whenever I try I just get the Sense bookmark icon, with a tiny favicon image in the bottom corner of it.

Long press on the homescreen, then go to shortcuts, there should be an option to place bookmarks.
Yeah, I'm able to do that. What I'm trying to work out though is if I can make my Desire pull in the "apple-touch-icon" to use as the bookmark icon, rather than the default HTC icon
