is 40% of battery usage for chrome too high? (nexus 7)

i was just looking @ my battery usage for my n7. doesn't 40% for chrome seem a bit high? how can i lower it?

chrome?................40%
android os.............28%
screen....................18%
android system........6%
media saver.............3%
tablet idle.................3%
wifi..........................2%

Not high if you use it a lot. How many minutes was it on (and does this jive with how much you used it)? Also depends when you last charged your battery. If you charged your battery an hour a go and then started browsing, it will be real high. 24 hours later it will be real low (if you stopped browsing).

Not seeing the screen on top of that list feels very awkward to me, something is off...

The percentage is only a relative number and it depends a lot on the usage pattern of the N7. E.g. I currently have 45% for idle time because my N7 was sitting on the shelf for 2 days in sleep mode.

What is, however, a bit strange in your nums is the relationship of the Chrome, OS and screen numbers.

If you were using Chrome heavily it is normal, for example downloading a huge file
