Is 4G even REAL?

Oh it's real, while working in NYC a few weeks ago I finally got to experience it firsthand, it almost matched my cable broadband speeds!

4G is real, and the network works fine for really fast downloads compared to 3G, but it does not operate at the proper speed to be truly called 4G!

What do you mean by that.
And are you acknowledging that is faster than, say, the iphones network?

^There is a speed standard for "actual" 4G speeds, which none of the networks match right now. As for the iphone's network.. Do you mean ATT or Verizon? I believe Verizon has their own version of 4G, as for ATT I don't know if they have any 4g, but Sprint's 4g is definitely much much faster than 3g.

US won't see true 4G because isp and mobile carriers won't implement it. At true Mbps 4G speed, it would take only a few mins to reach data caps.

My friend just said that 4g isn't real. Just wanted some clarification, he insists that his iphone 4g is better than my EVO.

1) There is no such thing as an iPhone 4G.

2) The iPhone does not have it's own network. It uses AT&T's network. AT&T was also recently ranked the work U.S. carrier by Consumer Reports.

3) As for the iPhone being better, that's a matter of personal preference. The EVO can render full Flash content, it can access a 4G network, it can video chat without needing Wi-Fi, it isn't capped at 2 GB of data usage each month, it costs less to have service, etc. And don't let him tell you that you have an EVO because you can't afford an iPhone. The EVO costs the same when purchase from Sprint as the 32 GB iPhone 4 before rebates, and the same as the 16 GB iPhone 4 after rebates.
