i decided to wait for the update. i am kind of curious how it is done ota. this is my first android phone and i want to see what the process is.

Recanting....

There is no native multitouch, there is no native multitouch.............

As soon as the sticky went up last night I just went for it. Pretty happy now. The G has delivered, just need clockwise rotation fixed and some customisation of trackball colours.

8I've held off upto now.... decided that I'll give it till friday and then manually update over the weekend.

.....yeah right..... we'll see..... :D

I was going to hold off then I figured what the heck. I never fiddled with my iphone and the point of this phone was that I could.

I downloaded it via the phones browser. renamed it and moved it to the right place using astro file manager. Update done and the multi touch is fantastic.

exact same thing i did. I waited last night, and said to my self if i dont get it OTA, im forcing it. Just forced it. Works great. Just upset they didnt address the system memory issue.

I'm gonna wait.
On Vodafone UK so perfect HSDPA all the time.
Quite happy with my double tap zoom in default browser.

I'm waiting. I want to read if there are any problems before I get the update. It's also my first android phone, and as another said, I'm also curious about how the notification shows up.

I'm waiting. Dont desperately need/want multi touch since i like one handed zoom.

Hope its optional. 3G coverage improvement is what I'm waiting for but so far havent had complaints with 3G service

I'm waiting too. First Android phone, want to experience all its delights, including an OTA update. No sign of it yet though. Anyway, I hear it doesn't add multi-touch to the keyboard, nor to the home screen (to avoid palm accidentally hitting screen and stopping me pressing apps), so actually I can't see what the big fuss is about. I've never had an urge to pinch-zoom in the browser when double tapping zooms perfectly every time.

You can still zoom in or out with the +/- at the bottom.

Why wait? It only took me a few minutes to update it.

If there's nothing included that I feel I'd like, I see no reason for spending my precious 5 minutes (*smirk*) doing it manually.

I'm the kind of person that reads the manual before touching the gadget. I'd read the N1 manual online before even ordering it :D I quite like waiting.

I'm a bit like that too.

Plus since getting the Nexus One, I've developed a Notification addiction so I want to wait to get the OTA one :D

I don't do waiting for stuff like this, manually updated as soon as I was able last night :D

New to Android - and was going to wait. However, the instructions posted are so simple to do - it would be silly not to.

Very happy with the update - and boy does the phone run faster now!

On o2 in the UK - not had a problem with 3G coverage.

Go on - go and do it. Take all of 5 minutes to do.

i've always been happy with the phone, and couldn't see any reason to do the manual install - but typically, did it anyway - and now I like the phone just that little bit more !
