Help Is anyone having this problem?

My Sprint intercept just updated to 2.2 and know my battery life is next to nothing when I run my task killer there are things opened that I never opened such as Amazon MP3 and my settings is there any way to stop this or is my phone stuck on next to nothing battery life?

where is the contacts folder stored. i mean, i want to copy it from the internal data. i used to do this with windows mobile called a pim. it can then just be found, renamed, the phone reset, and then all the contacts dissapear, and the phone makes a new pim which is blank until you paste the original again.
can anyone tell me the file name or type . i tried sbu but found nothing. i have root explorer but dont know what i m looking for on android 2.2

You don't do that with Android. All of your contacts are stored in your google account and will auto sync if you reset your phone.

Sorry your thread got hijacked. You're not the only one with battery issues since the update, but the Amazon MP3 thing and the other bloatware issues were the same on 2.1 and battery life was fine. It just seems to die faster now for no clear reason. I assume you turn off wifi when not needed? There's a Curvefish wifi widget you can download from the market that will give you quick access to the on/off.

For 2.2 the task killer is probably doing more harm then good. 2.1 needed it. My wife has wifi on constantly as well as gps and gets through the day just fine. About 13-16 hours easily. a good place to start is the built in task manager and see what is constantly running. Another option is to root and remove amozon mp3 if you dont use it. there is a thread on sdx that tells you what appas are safe to remove. In general anything sprint and anything without a .dex file. If you dont know what that means I suggest reading up a bit on SDX and then seeing if your comfortable trying it or not. If not then let 2.2 run as it feels and you will be better off than trying to manage it with 3rd party apps for the time being.

One thing to consider before rooting is when you got the 2.2 update. I heard they pulled the OTA one released in December and re-released it Jan 4th. I'm not entirely sure if that's the case, but I'm a little paranoid about rooting and removing apps if they're going to be pushing a revised version of the update, since that blocks you from installing the OTA update.

latinmaxima might know more.

Wondering the same thing, Billkwando...I want to root, but waiting to see if there is an update to the update. If anyone knows please respond b/c I'm holding my breath ;). Annnndd...can't wait until next month when I hopefully can upgrade to the Evo Shift!

Sprint seems pretty good about updating this site:
Samsung Intercept: Samsung Intercept Maintenance Releases

They definitely did re-release the same update on Jan 4th. No idea about any further updates though.
