Is boost mobile coming out with 4g

The only time that Boost will ever get 4G is when Sprint comes up with something new for their postpaid account holders. Then and only then will they pass 4G down to Boost and Virgin.

I read somewhere on this forum a statement made by a Sprint official during CES that VM and Boost would be getting 4G, and the speculation was that it would happen sometime in the second half of this year (2012). Unfortunately I can't currently find the link.

Confirmed!! :D

from knoxville:
"my friend received an email from his company stating that boost is getting 4G LTE"

Putting off on getting the marquee because I'm hoping they release a 4G phone by this summer. Compared to metro's esteem forum, there's nothing much going on with the marquee:confused:

I have talked to our territorial managers in Las Vegas. This is what seems to be going on.

What is speculated but nothing is confirmed.

1. Nextel is being phased out, as of June- July of this year our store will no longer sell IDEN phone. Also all IDEN activation's will be halted.

2. Sprint is transitioning to LTE, the company has to worry about themselves first before Boost or Virgin get a taste of sweet sweet 4G.

3. Virgin Mobile is being RE- Branded. New colors themes and such. Las Vegas always gets things first from Sprint.

4. Their is a major renouncement coming in the next couple months. And let me tell you, it keeps the doctor away.

5. I asked my REP what she thought on 4G this year and she said don't count on it. Boost is making money and will not bite its own daddies foot.

Now again nothing is certain but after meetings and dinners .... I'd like to say my business will sprout very well in the next coming months.

IT would be nice to get proper 3g speeds before we see 4g on boost mobile. I get less then dialup speeds with 3g around here.

If Boost gets a 4g device then they'll certainly have to offer 4g. Why would someone spend the extra bucks to get a device that's 4g capable without getting 4g service? I certainly wouldn't.

Sprint is committed to removing IDEN and replacing with LTE by 2014, Nextel is officially done.

The real question is will Boost change rates for 4G utilization?"

Tell that to the thousands of EVO 4G owners that never got 4G/Wimax. I didn't get 4G until over a year after purchasing the phone. We got slapped w/the $10 extra fee right at purchase time. It was not a big deal to me as I was always near Wifi and the 3G was still decent, although declining after a year had passed. But those with no 4G and needed it would probably have a different feeling

If boost forces a $10 fee and does not offer 4G then this will be the same story all over again.

As I said before I would be happy for proper 3g speeds compared to the crap I am getting now and have been getting over the month of March and most of April. If this weak service continues I will be switching carriers to someone else.

I'm being told we will not be getting LTE here at Boost Mobile or Virgin Mobile.
We will be getting WiMAX.
That is why we never got it before, Sprints 4G would have been congested had all of their MVNO's been on the WiMAX network as well.
Now that Sprint has moved on to LTE, That will free up bandwidth on their WiMAX front.
That is the only reason why we are seeing 4G.
They are using this move to recoup loses they are taking in doing this transition to LTE.
I guess it's very costly to convert towers. X_X

Virgin Mobile is being re-branded for sure.
That is why their is a mandatory no grandfather clause on any phones purchased after May 27th. Also why they have only released a few mediocre phones here and there for the past few months.
I am almost completely sure that Virgin Mobile will be the one receiving 4G first.
They need it after all. Their reputation is much lower than their sister company Boost Mobile.

We shall see!

Do a search for faster 3g speeds. It worked on my warp and my down and up speeds are a lot better now

Wimax it is but be sure to check your area to see if you have it....I guess Sprint thinks us "good 'ol boys" in Alabama have no use for 4g service, I was just informed that we will not be getting the towers. So I will be trying to sell a $300 4g phone that will only have 3g towers in the area....good luck to me...

You mean you already got the phone? I thought folks would have to wait till it was officially released.

No towers in my area either and that includes the whole state of indiana and most of michigan and only 1 city in michigan has 4g and that city is several hundred miles away from me
