Is Coolpad Canvas the worst phone ever?

The Coolpad Canvas that I just bought will not charge because its own charger does not fit. It claimed a corrupted SD card, then offered to format it but did not, at least past 20%. It also took me to a website I did not search for in Firefox, listing it 3 times. I am taking it back to Best Buy for a refund. I guess this is more of a warning to others than a question.
 
What can someone without much money do? Is it possible to get a decent phone for maybe $50? What do you mean by government phones?

Is that the Lifeline Assurance program, aka Obamaphone? Coolpad are budget China phones, but there are much worse phones here in the PRC. Coolpad also make a lot of house branded phones for many different carriers around the world, like Vodafone, etc.

BTW Micromax in India also call some of their phones "Canvas", but those are not sold in the US.

Thank God it is not an Obamaphone. I bought it at Best (Worst) Buy. With the Sandisk 32 gb sd card, it cost $75.33. I expect that even a free phone would have a working charger included, let alone one seemingly perfect in a brand new (?) package.

Yep that's the Obamaphone, alright. I had a Coolpad Arise once from said program.

I swear, that was the worst Android phone I've ever owned. The phone had very little RAM in it. You couldn't even web browse and listen to music simultaneously, in fear of one of the apps stopping. An absolute piece of garbage.

Well, never again.
 
Thanks to a good friend, the CC is actually getting charged. Maybe I'll end up keeping the darn thing after all. Are there any custom os versions available for a Coolpad Canvas if Lineage is not?

no i am pretty sure that the polaroid link a400 is the worse phone made
 
i had an obama phone for 3 years --a lil flip phone-- dam thing worked better and got better service than any phone i have even seen---everyone with super smart phones always borrowed my "free" phone lol
 
I guess it's OK for maybe 50 bucks. At least it's got more internal storage than that Fanfare 2, and the 32 GB SD card helps. The main thing is that it's "jumpy". It sometimes switches from one thing to another without warning. Firefox has crashed a lot but it seems better now that I've updated it.
