Is EvDo gone?

I just got back to OC in CA after a several month absence. Playing with my phone settings, I set it to CDMA/EvDo auto to see what kind of speeds I'd get (I got good 4g in Santa Ana/Fountain Valley) and only 1x came up where normally it'd be EvDo.

I set it to EvDo only, and it went to the red X that indicates no service. Did T-Metro kill off EvDo?

What does that mean exactly about switching the spectrum blocks?

I'm still on 3035.
