Apps Is Google wallet necessary for starting a developer account?

Is Google wallet necessary for starting a developer account? If it isn't necessary then is there any way to bypass the use of google wallet and supply the $25 fee and receive money from any apps i make money off of?

I've moved your thread into our Developers subforum where fellow devs may be able to chime in with their experience.

I'm not a developer, but my understanding is that Google Wallet is required to register an account: Developer Registration

At the very least, the $25 fee has to be paid through a funding source supported by Wallet - it doesn't have to come from your Wallet account funds, but will have to pass through it.

Hopefully someone else can chime in with their actual experience.
