Is it Droid kitKat or Red or What?

So, I will try to keep this brief~I've been on the phone with big Red and Motorola level 2 tech support for an hour and a half; I've been to India, the Philippines, and back. You can no longer take a video with an android smart phone then text it to a friend, at least the Droid. So today, I went to a Verizon store, walked up to 2 brand new phones, Droid Turbo and Samsung note 4; took a 2 second video and tried to text it to me...NOPE! The only way is to dial the number first, then take your movie while in text and hit send. That's not so convenient. Since the updates, My single has been bouncing all over the place; I've got it set to Global which is what Verizon said should be the best....I've read on Red and all over the Web, many, hundreds if not more of the same thing..any thoughts?

It's not KitKat.

I'm using an HTC One M8 on Sprint and just sent a video using the Textra app, no hokey pokey required, just shared straight from my gallery.

Both of the phones you mentioned are QHD, not sure if that matters.

Most videos will go past the Verizon data per message limit pretty quickly. I forget, but it's either 1 or 2 MB.
