Is it okay to use a different charger for my phone?

I have a coolpad something phone. It came with its own charger. Do I only have to use that charger or can I use any good android charger? I am not talking about dollar tree ones but ones that are good quality.

Whether it's a Quick Charge wall charger or not, a smartphone will only accept Amp current that it is programmed to take. If you connect a non-compatible Quick Charge smartphone into a Quick Charge port then it'll simply default to its max charging speed.

With that said, I think dontpanicbobby is correct that coolpad phones aren't compatible with Quick Charge so there's no reason to spend your money there.

However, the charger that came with the phone is not the only wall charger that you can use with the smartphone. I suggest, if you want to; Get a wall charger that is capable of having a Output charge of 5V/2.4A. That way your smartphone is always charging at its max speed and not limited by the wall charger that it came with. Unless the wall charger that it came with has a high output power.

Ultimately, you should still use the charger that it came with but you shouldn't hesitate to use other wall chargers.

Don't worry. You can charge it with any good cords. If it supports it will charge or it won't then go for the next one.

I must have a half dozen different type and brand of chargers around the house.
I never give a seconds thought to what the charger module is.
I just grab the cord and plug it in.

Some of the chargers are slow, ie, only 1.0 amp from olden days.... they work just fine for overnight chargers.

Some of them are 2.1 amp modules, one is an Anker 6 port 5 amp charger that is AutoSmart and knows what it is plugged into.

My favorite of the bunch is my Anker 26800 portable battery pack. It has a 'smart feature' on it also, and can push a fast charge onto any of my phones that have 'fast charge' enabled.

Just pick one solid charger and cable from your present collection and they will work fine. I guess most coolpad phones charge at 1A, so in this case, you actually do not need to buy any more chargers that featured "smart" or "quick" since most chargers can manage an output of 1A.
