Help Is it possible to send an automatic SMS based on a missed call?

Hi guys,

So i have an idea for an app, where the main feature would be to send and automatic SMS/text message when the receiver doesnt pick up the phone. I have been in contact with several developers, and some say its possible, some say its not possible using a service like Tvilio.com

I have money for the development, so that is not a problem. I just don't want to waste money developing something that isn't possible beucase of Android limitations/policies.

Fyi i have no experience developing myself, hence hiring developers and asking in forums.

I really hope someone can help and clarify, so i know what to do.

Best regards,

Oh really? I found a post with Tasker doing it, but that was like 4 years old. And i found a reddit post by Tasker saying they had trouble with Android doing so.
But it is possible? That is really nice to know, thank you so much for responding! :)

I seem to remember an app that did this very action.
It was so that you could put it on while driving and a preselected text would be sent to each caller.

If I remember correct, it could be customized to send certain texts to certain callers, and even not respond after so many times from the same caller (to save $- back then texts were not free, or doled out by the tens of thousands).

But it did not work on my device, and I have no memory of what the name was. I didn't keep it for long after I found out it wasn't working.

My carrier does this anyway.

(I actually find it annoying)
You can't opt out of it? I would have made sense in 2009 when you needed an app to notify you of a missed call, but now, jeesh. If that was in the US they would charge you for the service. :P
