I saw the 8" Proscan tablet on woot.com for $80 and just couldn't pass it up. I bought two - one for me, one for my wife. It's a nice little tablet when it works but I've had the same issue with both of them - multiple times on mine.
After using it for a couple of weeks I started getting messages about stopped processes. The messages were for many different processes and I could barely get one notice cleared before another was popping up. I couldn't find anything that would make the thing work again so I ended up downloading the firmware from the vendor's site and reflashing it.
After reloading from the vendor's update.zip it worked fine but most of the apps on it were out of date. This meant waiting a long time for Google Play to download and install new versions of all of the apps.
Having gone through this for the third time now, I'm wondering if it would be possible to take the vendor's update.zip and refresh it with the latest versions of the apps it came with so that if I ever had to go through this again it would be up to date as soon as the reflash was done. Has anyone ever done this?
